in the late afternoon, we sneaked into one of the most gorgeous buildings on campus--ivy covered outside and wood paneled inside, rooms filled with high backed chairs and cases of books and little glass lamps. we ran up and down the grand central staircase a few times just to hear the echos of our footsteps, stared out of windows that overlooked a scholarly fall scene outside where students in various wool clothes and scarves were carrying books and cutting across the quad to a background of leaves falling from trees like confetti. we entered a lecture hall that was filling with people. we took our seats and then he went up to the front of the hall and took a picture with the featured speaker just for fun. and then we left and went to our late afternoon class.
